چکیده

There are many methods on how to improve reliability of the system. One of the common methods is a concept of redundancy. Redundancy is simply the addition of information beyond what is needed for standard system operation. This information can be a physical value or electric signal, hardware element or subsystem, an application or software module. The concept of redundancy is based on Murphy’s idea: “If anything can go wrong, it will”. That means that there is no such thing as a neverfailing system, because systems are designed and created by humans. Redundancy can improve our chance to ensure standard operation of the system for a long time. The concept of redundancy is very often managed by a technique of fault masking. Fault masking is simply preventing faults (electric shorts, endless loop, electromagnetic interference, etc.) from introducing errors (incorrect values) within a system. Commonly used techniques for masking AbstrAct

Detection of the secondary, low-affinity β1-adrenoceptor site in living cells using the fluorescent CGP 12177 derivative BODIPY-TMR-CGP

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE CGP 12177 not only inhibits agonist effects mediated through the catecholamine site of the β1 -adrenoceptor with high affinity, but also exhibits agonist effects of its own at higher concentrations through a secondary, low-affinity β1 -adrenoceptor site or conformation. β-blocker affinities for this 'CGP 12177' site of the human β1 -adrenoceptor have thus far only been ch...

Clinical utility of tumor marker cutoff ratio and a combination scoring system of preoperative carcinoembryonic antigen, carbohydrate antigen 19-9, carbohydrate antigen 72-4 levels in gastric cancer

PURPOSE The present study is to investigate the clinical utility of tumor marker cutoff ratio (TMR) and develop a TMR combination scoring system based on preoperative tumor marker (TM) levels to prognosis prediction in gastric cancer. METHODS We include 1,142 patients for whom two or more TMs were measured and who underwent radical gastrectomy between 1990 and 2003. RESULTS Five-year risk o...

Scheduling Considerations for Voter Checking in FPGA-based TMR Systems

Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are susceptible to radiation-induced Single Event Upsets (SEUs). A common technique for dealing with SEUs is Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) combined with Module-based configuration memory Error Recovery (MER). By triplicating components and voting on their outputs, TMR helps localize the configuration memory errors, and by reconfiguring the faulty compone...

Task-scheduling strategies for reliable TMR controllers using task grouping and assignment

Summary and Conclusions—Real-time computers are often used in embedded, life-critical applications where high reliability is important. A common approach to make such systems dependable is to vote on redundant processors executing multiple copies of the same task. The most popular redundant structure is Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR). The processors that make up such systems are subject not on...

Fault Tolerant Reversible QCA Design using TMR and Fault Detecting by a Comparator Circuit

Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is an emerging and promising technology that provides significant improvements over CMOS. Recently QCA has been advocated as an applicant for implementing reversible circuits. However QCA, like other Nanotechnologies, suffers from a high fault rate. The main purpose of this paper is to develop a fault tolerant model of QCA circuits by redundancy in hardware a...
